Grooming guide: The perfect eyebrows

By Alex

Eyebrows are one of the most important features on the face, they completely frame your face and the shape and style of them is very important. Our grooming guide is full of tips and tricks to help you achieve the perfect brows.

Avoid over plucking

The first step to getting perfect eyebrows is not to over pluck, something that was very popular in the 80s and 90s (that some people haven’t recovered from). Over plucking your eyebrows over a prolonged period of time can cause the hair to stop growing, which can leave you with very thin eyebrows, which can be quite hard to work with.

Plucking your eyebrows too thin can make it hard when you’re trying to make them look more defined and thicker, the less hair you have to work with the harder it can be.

Let them grow out

If you’re looking to completely recreate your eyebrow shape to get the perfect brow for your face shape it’s important to let them grow. Growing your eyebrows out for around six to eight weeks will give you a lot more hair to play with. You might be tempted to get the tweezers out and tackle the excess hair but try not too, you’ll be grateful in the end.

Get them groomed regularly

You’ve let your brows grow out for almost two months now and your eyebrows are looking much fuller (but not in a good way) now its time to get them groomed. We recommend visiting a reputable beauty salon and getting your brows waxed or threaded, a professional will be able to advise you of what eyebrow shape will frame your face best and ensure they get your brows as perfect and even as possible, something that can be hard to do on yourself.

Once you’ve got your brows in the perfect shape it’s important to keep up with getting them waxed, threaded or plucked regularly. Once you’ve got the overall shape down it can be easy to pluck the stray hairs that start to grow outside of your brow shape, or you could visit your local salon every four weeks and get them to keep up with your desired shape.

Make up can be a temporary fix

Now that your eyebrows are in the shape that you want you might want them to look more defined or fuller, this is something makeup can help with.

There are so many different brow products on the market from powders to gels to help fill our shape and even eyebrow gels with fibres in to make your eyebrows appear fuller. You can easily grab a few products to help fill in your eyebrows to your desired shape and fullness, however, this is only a temporary fix and once you remove the makeup your eyebrows will return to their natural shape.

Eyebrow restoration could help

At the Harley Street Hair Clinic, we offer eyebrow restoration treatments that can help your eyebrows look fuller and more and defined.

A more permanent solution is our FUE eyebrow reconstruction procedure. During an eyebrow transplant, hair follicles are taken from the back of the scalp and they are carefully transplanted onto the eyebrows. One by one the hairs are put into small incisions that have the right angle in order to mimic the rest of the eyebrow hair. This is a micro-surgical technique leaving no scars.

An eyebrow transplant can be used for those with little to no hair on the brow area and can also be used to make the eyebrows look more defined and fuller, as well as covering any scarring that you might have in the brow area.

We also offer advanced tricho pigmentation, the perfect solution to help produce much fuller, natural looking eyebrows. Our ATP is a pigment delivery system that has been built from the ground up with the sole purpose of replicating hair follicles and hair strokes. The treatment is highly advanced and can build upon an already existing brow to create fullness and can also be used to produce a natural looking brow for those with no hair.
