    If the growth phase stops or slows down, this means you might start to shed hair faster than it can grow, causing hair to thin. When the stress is resolved, the hair growth cycle tends to rebalance and after around six months you can expect your hair to return to normal.

    Eat a balanced diet

    Our diet is so important for many factors of life, eating a healthy and balanced diet will help keep your weight healthy, reduce your chance of conditions such as diabetes and can even help to reduce the chance of hair loss.

    You should ensure that your diet is rich in nutrients to help the hair stay healthy and strong. You need to ensure you’re including protein, vitamins (A, B and E are vital in keeping hair healthy) and iron. It is important to ensure your diet is balanced as too much vitamin A or E can have the opposite effect and can cause hair loss.

    Look after your hair

    Something many of us will do is over style our hair, we’re all guilty of using a lot of heat on our hair. Heat styling can cause dryness and breakage which can cause the hair to become shorter and in some cases thinner. You can also experience a type of hair loss called traction alopecia due to hair styling, repeatedly having your hair in tight hair styles such as braided and tight ponytails can cause hair loss.
