Will an FUE hair transplant always give full coverage?

By Alex

Getting a hair transplant is a big decision and a lot of different factors will come into play when you decide to get one. We get asked a lot of different questions when people are researching hair transplants and during their consultation. One question we get asked often is, if a hair transplant will look natural and if it can give you full coverage, today we’re going to look into that.

What is an FUE hair transplant?

A follicular unit extraction or FUE hair transplant is a hair restoration procedure used to work towards restoring the appearance of a fuller head of hair for those with a receding hairline or thinning hair. The procedure works towards building upon the appearance of a natural looking fuller head of hair.

How does an FUE hair transplant work?

During an FUE hair transplant, hair follicles are transplanted from one area of the scalp to another. The hair follicles are taken from areas of the scalp where the hair is fuller, such as the back and the sides – this area is referred to as the donor area.

With the use of a specialised extraction tool hair follicles are then removed from the donor area, these hair follicles are removed individually which minimises any scarring. These hair follicles are then prepared under a microscope by our team of expert’s ready for the transplant.

Your doctor will work with you to draw on a new hairline and ensure you’re happy with it before beginning to transplant the hair follicles. The hair follicles are then transplanted, your doctor will puncture the scalp and insert each individual hair graft at an angle and density to mimic natural hair growth. With the use of the FUE process and our experienced team of doctors, we can ensure your results will look as natural as possible.

Can you ensure my transplant will give me full coverage?

When it comes to getting a hair transplant, the important thing to remember is everybody’s results will be different, and because of this, it is hard to see exactly what your results will look like before your transplant. We do have a range of before and after photos and videos on our case studies section, this will allow you to see what results we can achieve.

We’re often asked if a hair transplant can achieve full coverage, and the simple answer is yes – it can, but only if you’re the right candidate. Before your hair transplant procedure, you’ll have to come to the clinic for a no obligation consultation, during this consultation one of our doctors will take a look at your current hair loss and take into account future hair loss.

As mentioned above, a hair transplant works by removing hair follicles from one area of the scalp and transplanting them to another. In order to do this, you need to have enough donor hair to ensure your hair will look natural and realistic. Our doctors will ensure you have enough donor hair to give you full coverage for a hair transplant, without compromising natural looking results.
