A recent poll commissioned by Asda Pharmacy asked a group of men what things they would rather lose than their hair. 41% of the men all aged 35 and under admitted that they would rather lose sight in one eye than their hair.
In 2010, the American hair loss association did a similar poll and found that men were more concerned about their hair than women and relationships. Of the mean polled, 65% were more willing to sacrifice the chance of dating if it meant that they were able to keep a full head hair.
In a survey by the Sunday Express, British men’s top fifteen fears were explored, ranked in order. The survey found that more men would rather lose their job than going bald. Of the men in the survey, 17% ranked going bald was their biggest fear, compared to 16% who said their biggest fear was losing their job.
A recent survey by YouGov asked men in the UAE ‘How much time of your life would you be willing to shorten to regain lost hair or to ensure that you will not go bald?’ 13% of the mean said they were willing to sacrifice up to three years of their life, and 42% would sacrifice up to a year if they could stop hair loss.
