Hair loss can be one of the worst times of a man’s life, it can really set your confidence back. When you start to look into treatments you want something that is going to last, something permanent. We often get asked if our FUE hair transplants are a permanent hair loss solution, today, we’re going to look into it.
Hair Loss
Hair loss is extremely common and will more than likely affect everyone at some stage of their life. Hair loss can happen for a number of different reasons, from ageing to stress.
Different types of hair loss will need different treatments, for example, stress related hair loss might not need any treatment at all. Hair will usually resume the normal growth phase after a few months when you’re no longer stressed. Other types of hair loss such as Androgenetic Alopecia and Non-Pattern hair loss will need to be treatment.
At the Harley Street Hair Clinic we offer the revolutionary FUE hair transplant procedure as an option to treat hair loss.
How does an FUE hair transplant work?
The FUE transplantation method works by using a micro surgical extraction instrument to remove individual hair follicles, whilst under local anaesthesia. These follicles are removed from parts of the scalp with more hair, usually found at the back and sides.
The hair is then transplanted to the areas of the scalp that are thinning or bald. A micro surgical needle is used to puncture the scalp and our expert doctors then insert each graft into the scalp at an angle and density that will blend in with the original hair to resemble a natural and realistic hair pattern.
Will my hair transplant be a permanent solution?
FUE hair transplants are extremely long lasting and one of the most successful hair loss treatments available.
Once you’ve had your hair transplant the transplanted hair will shed after a few weeks, this is a normal part of the procedure and your hair will grow back strong and healthy. Your hair will start to grow in the transplanted areas and you’ll start to see your new head of hair after around 3-6 moths of growth.
Your new transplanted hair will continue to grow, as it did in the donor area and your new hair growth will be permanent. During your personalised consultation our experts will ensure you are a suitable candidate for a hair transplant. The will investigate your age, family history and hair loss type, they will then be able to foresee any future hair loss on any other areas of the scalp and design your transplant around this.
Are There Alternative Hair Loss Solutions?
Hair Loss Medication
When it comes to hair loss some clinics might offer you hair loss medication. There are a few different medications currently available that can help slow down hair loss and some that can promote hair growth.
Medications such as Finasteride (often known as propecia) are often given out to stop hair loss, however, it is important to remember these medications cannot fully stop hair loss and as soon as you stop taking medication, the hair loss will continue. It is also important to remember these medications can come with some side effects.
Advanced Tricho Pigmentation
Advanced Tricho Pigmentation is an ink delivery system that was built from the ground up with the sole purpose of mimicking the appearance of hair follicles and fine hair strokes. The treatment is similar to other pigmentation treatments such as scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) however, with the use of the best technology and pigments our treatment is more advanced.
ATP is the perfect treatment for anyone with slightly thinning hair as the pigmentation can add density to thinning areas. It can also work on those with little to no hair by building a hairline and producing the appearance of a full head of closely shaven hair. Take a look at our case studies to see our amazing results.
