Grooming is an important part of everyone’s daily routine, even if you’re a simple jump in the shower and wash your face kind of guy or someone who has a five-part morning and evening routine to keep your skin as perfect as possible.
Finding the perfect routine for you is important, and so is avoiding a few common mistakes. Avoiding these grooming mistakes and getting your routine perfect for you will make your day a lot easier and will keep you looking fresh and well-groomed every day.
Here are a few tips from the Harley Street Hair Clinic, to ensure your grooming routine is perfect.
Not looking after your beard
There is nothing wrong with a moustache or a big beard, you just have to make sure its kept well. Getting into work with a big bushy, messy beard that hasn’t seen a beard comb for weeks isn’t the best look.
Trim the edges of your facial hair into shape on a daily basis, this will get rid of any scruffy and scraggly bits. Make sure you comb your beard on a daily basis too, this will help it stay in shape and also bring out and scraggly hairs that need to go – if you want to go a step further beard oil can keep your facial hair smooth.
If you need any help growing the perfect beard, we’ve got you covered – take a look at our grooming guide or check out our FUE transplant procedure to see how we can help you get the perfect beard.
Overcomplicating things
It’s easy to walk into your local health store and fill your basket up with a number of different products to start your grooming routine, but sometimes you don’t need to buy 10 different products – this can over complicate things.
We think keeping things simple is the way forward, you’ll remember your routine and it won’t be time consuming, which, means you’ll be more likely to stick to a routine.
For your daily routine, we recommend jumping in the shower, using a facewash (not a body was that you use for your face too), once out of the shower groom your facial hair, or have a fresh shave, and then use a small amount of moisturiser on your face. Simple, but effective.
Once you’ve managed to stick to something as simple as this, you can then be more adventurous and add serums, eye creams, and exfoliators.
Getting too comfortable and scared to change things up
Something most of us are guilty of is getting too comfortable with our hair and not wanting to change it up. A simple but good thing to do as part of your grooming routine is to change things up once in a while, go to your usual barber and tell them you want something a bit different. A hair cut can completely change up your appearance and a change can be good every once in a while.
We hope you’re more prepared for your grooming routine now that you know three simple mistakes to avoid.
