June Law hair 2024

Celebrities get procedures to improve their looks over time, and that includes hair transplants. A hair transplant is a highly effective type of hair loss treatment that involves grafting individual follicles from the back or sides of the scalp to place them into the receding/balding areas of the head. After the procedure, the hairs begin to grow through like normal, creating a natural-looking result.

Many people have speculated that Jude Law has had a hair transplant during his career. It’s not hard to understand these rumours, either – this British actor showed a receding hairline earlier in his career but now seems to have a full head of thick, dense, healthy hair! So, is the Jude Law hair transplant real, or was it fabricated by the public? Read on to learn all about it.

Who is Jude Law?

Jude Law has been an actor since the late 1980s, later rising to fame when playing the spoiled Dickie Greenleaf in The Talented Mr Ripley, which he won a BAFTA for. Since then, he has shown time and time again his talents in front of the camera, starring in the likes of Sherlock Holmes, The Holiday, the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and Artificial Intelligence. He is now a household name – most people know the face of Jude Law by this point!

As well as his acting prowess, Jude Law also gained recognition thanks to his looks. He became known as quite the heartthrob, which isn’t that surprising! It makes sense, then, that he may have put a little work into his appearance over the years. Age naturally catches up to everyone, but celebrities have access to all kinds of procedures that help them fight those signs of ageing for a while longer – one such procedure is the hair transplant.

Jude Law Hair Transplant: Did He Get One?

Jude Law has never officially come out to confirm that he got a hair transplant. However, that’s not all that surprising – celebrity hair transplants are often kept quiet!

While we cannot 100% confirm that he got one, we can look at the evidence over the years and come up with a conclusion. With Jude Law being such a prominent celebrity, it’s easy to look at his hairline over the years to see the difference. That way, it might not be so much of a mystery!

A Timeline of Jude Law’s Hair

Jude Law Hair: 1999

As mentioned, Jude Law first rose to prominence when he starred in The Talented Mr Ripley. At this time, the actor was in his late 20s and had longish floppy blonde hair. If you look a little closer, you’ll also notice that Jude Law had a widow’s peak, [1] a hairline defined by the M shape it creates.

Jude Law Hair: Early 2000s

Moving into the early 2000s, Jude Law opted for a slightly shorter hairdo compared to his hair in The Talented Mr Ripley. He was often seen sporting messy blonde locks.

Jude Law Hair: Late 2000s

Jude Law grew out his hair once more in the late 2000s, which you can particularly see in My Blueberry Nights. Due to the length, it’s difficult to see if his hairline had recessed further.

Jude Law Hair: 2010

In 2010, Jude Law starred in the hit film Sherlock Holmes. At this point, he sported a more cropped hairdo, which showed his receding temples a little more clearly.

Jude Law Hair: 2015

Moving forward to 2015, Jude Law’s hairline is more receded than ever. His hair is much shorter, and his receding temples go back further than we’d ever seen before. It’s suspected he got a hair transplant not long after this.

Jude Law Hair: 2018

In 2018, Jude Law gained the role of Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. As you can see, his hair looks a lot thicker than it did before – not to mention that his hairline, while still a little receded, is not nearly as far back as it was in 2015.

Jude Law Hair: 2020 Onwards

From 2020 onwards, Jude Law has been seen sporting healthy-looking hair. While he still has his natural widow’s peak type hairline, his hair does not recede as far back as it did in the 2010s, meaning if he did get a hair transplant, it was a successful procedure that’s given him many more years of a full head of hair.

As you can see, Jude Law is a classic case of someone who experienced some form of hair loss quite early and was able to treat it with a procedure later in life. We suspect he got his hair transplant around 2017, perhaps after he was cast in the Fantastic Beast series. This would have given him the chance to see results before being on camera as Albus Dumbledore. If he did get one, the results have been fantastic, as he’s still seen sporting a full head of hair to this day.

What Type of Hair Transplant Did Jude Law Get?

Again – as we cannot say with any certainty that Jude Law had a hair transplant, we also cannot say what type he had. However, it’s quite easy to make a guess, as Jude Law likely got his hair transplant in 2017 and showed extremely natural results following that. Likely, he opted for the FUE hair transplant, standing for Follicular Unit Extraction. This procedure produces the most natural results thanks to its ability to extract singular hair follicles, which leaves minimal scarring. There’s very little chance that the Jude Law hair plugs or Jude Law hair implant rumours are true, as these don’t produce results as natural as FUE.

Could Jude Law Have Opted for Another Hair Loss Treatment?

While we highly suspect that Jude Law got a hair transplant sometime before 2018, no one can rule out some other hair treatments! Another common hair loss treatment for both men and women is minoxidil, a type of hair loss medication that, when used daily, can reverse the effects of male or female pattern baldness. There’s also the medication finasteride, which is usually taken orally and, like minoxidil, can help people regrow their hair after experiencing hair loss.

While it’s plausible that he opted for a non-surgical treatment like minoxidil or finasteride, it’s far more likely that he got a hair transplant. There are a few reasons for this – first, his hair regrowth happened quite quickly over the course of a year. Plus, there’s the fact that, as a celebrity, he has access to the very best surgeons in the world, which means he would have been able to go through the procedure and enjoy incredibly natural results.

Have Other Celebs Had a Hair Transplant?

Yes! Hair transplants are very common in the celebrity world. They are often in front of a camera, after all, with their appearance overly scrutinised. They will notice quickly if they are experiencing hair loss, and a FUE hair transplant allows them to undergo a simple treatment that restores their hair to how it once was.

Jude Law’s hair loss isn’t unusual – many men experience a receding hairline as they get older, with half of men having male pattern baldness by the time they reach 40. [2] Some male celebrities who have had hair transplants (or are at least rumoured to have had them) include Jimmy Carr, John Travolta, James Nesbitt, Wayne Rooney, Rob Brydon, and Tom Hanks! Some of these celebs have been open about the procedure, whereas others have preferred to keep quiet about it – which, of course, is their right to do so. It’s not always easy to admit that you underwent a procedure like a hair transplant, after all, even if it is becoming a more commonplace treatment for those experiencing hair loss.

Have You Been Considering a Hair Transplant?

It’s no secret that hair transplants have become increasingly popular throughout the years – where once they were a procedure only sought out by the famous or wealthy, now, more and more people are walking into hair loss clinics to fix their receding hairlines. That could include you. The procedure itself is refreshingly fast – you can be in and out of the clinic within a day. While you won’t experience results overnight, people usually see hair regrowth around six months post-treatment, with full results coming in around a year after the procedure. Take a look at our patients gallery to see how much it can transform your appearance.

In Summary

No one has confirmed that Jude Law had a hair transplant. That doesn’t mean he didn’t have one – many celebrities like to keep the ins and outs of their cosmetic procedures under wraps. When you look at the change to his hairline from 2015 to 2020, it’s clear that he did something to improve his hairline, and, considering how much regrowth he experienced, it’s safe to say he likely got a FUE hair transplant.

Here at Harley Street Hair Clinic, we offer FUE hair transplants much like the one that Jude Law got. If you’ve experienced hair loss due to androgenetic alopecia, it could be the procedure that finally allows you to regrow your hair and bring back your confidence.
