“I think it started for me when I was about 21 or 22. I started to recede my hair and all my friends had the perfect hairline and mine was gradually going up. At first I thought ‘this is cool, girls think I’m older, getting into clubs!’. But then in my mid-20s it kept on going and suddenly I was 30 and it was really far back and my hairline had jumped right up. You kind of accept it. It’s like ‘ok this is the way it’s supposed to be‘.”
“You kind of think I’ll just shave all my hair off. That’s the only solution. There’s no other option but to shave all of your hair off so that you have no hair and then no one will actually know that you have a receding hairline because you have no hair!”
“I met someone about a year ago who told me that hair transplants were an actual thing now. At first I thought no one gets that done – I don’t want to be like a barbie doll with little strands of hair plugged into my head! But I started googling about it and reading and saw that some high profile football players and actors had had it done and they looked amazing – there was no way that you could tell the difference between the before and afters apart from they looked 10 years younger!”
“The main reason was that when I started researching other clinics I found out that, whilst there might have been one doctor who was there initially to consult, it was actually a team of nurses who would come in and do the job! I felt like this is not like just washing my car, this is not just having a shave, this is something that’s going to be with me for the rest of my life. I kind of get one chance to do this and I’d rather I get the best chance to do it. At Harley Street Hair Clinic I had one doctor who met me on the first day and she stayed with me for the entire 16 hours of the procedure. I feel really comfortable with her.”
“They’ve changed my life and I don’t know if they realise how much of an impact this is going to have on my life but I’m going to walk out of here and I’m going to feel so much better about myself and my confidence will be up.
We’re going to come into the summer and I’m going to be on the beach with flowing locks! That’s real hair – it’s not just drawn on, it’s not a tattoo, it’s not someone else’s hair. That’s my hair, just moved from the back to the front. It’s incredible! I’m very excited.”
