Dr. Daniel Ness

Dr Ness graduated from University of Edinburgh with a degree in Medicine (MBChB) in 2014. After completing his Foundation Programme and Core Surgical Training and obtaining his membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, Dr Ness originally pursued a career in urology and kidney transplant before switching to hair transplantation. 

Dr Ness is one of the few hair transplant surgeons in the world who entered the field with  a background in organ transplant surgery. He was a Senior Clinical Fellow in Organ Transplantation Surgery at Guy’s Hospital and carries the same discipline and principles of into his hair transplant practice. This experience has given Dr Ness a unique perspective on respecting the tissue to preserve the grafts prior to implantation for maximal survival. 

Dr Ness believes in performing FUE surgery using high magnification loupes to utilise the smallest punches possible, inspecting and counting every graft under microscopes, and leading every step of the procedure in person. This has allowed him to perform numerous surgeries exceeding 4000 grafts a session with no visible scarring at the donor site and high density of hair achieved at the recipient sites. Dr Ness is able to offer both implantation into pre-made incisions he makes using custom-cut blades that are bespoke to each patient as well as using sharp implanters with no pre-made incisions where clinically appropriate.

Dr Ness has published several peer-reviewed articles in medical journals and presented at numerous international and national conferences. He has also featured in mainstream media including national newspapers. Dr Ness is passionate about medical education having mentored several physicians and technicians in the field. He has a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Newcastle and has designed a national course on entering Core Surgical Training run in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons.  

Dr Ness specialises in hair transplantation for both male and female pattern hair loss and has experience with transgender hair transplantation.
